What is Actinic Keratosis?
A
- A common premalignant skin lesion that develops due to chronic sun exposure
- Actinic/ solar = sun exposure
- keratosis = thick/ scaly

What are the features of Actinic Keratosis lesion?
A
- A flat, thickened papule or plaque
- White or yellow, scaly, warty or horny surface
- Red or pigmented
- Tender or asymptomatic
- Cutaneous horn may arise

What is the Managment for Actinic Keratosis?
A
- Sunavoidance, sun cream
- Fluorouracil cream - 2/3 weeks course
- Skin will become red and inflamed - topical hydrocortisone is given
- Topical Diclofenac
- Topical imiquimod
- Cryotherapy
- Curettage and cautery
