- Incision through Linea Alba
* No nerves, muscles, or vessels transected

Paramedian Incision
A
- Anterior layer of Rectus Sheath Cut 1” lateral to midline
- Tendinous intersections cut and Rectus muscle and anterior layer of sheath retracted
- Posterior layer of Rectus Sheath Cut
* No innervation to Rectus Abdominis Lost

Transverse Incision
A
- Incision through Rectus Sheath and Rectus Abdominis
- Lateral Incision through Obliques and Transverse Abdominis
* Only 1 Segmental Nerve Damaged because of the slope of the nerves

McBurney’s Incision
A
- Line from Umbilicus to Right Anterior Superior Iliac Spine
- McBurney’s Point established 1” from Ant. Sup. Iliac Spine
- Oblique Incision Following the Lines of Langer (Cleavage Lines)
- Splitting of Ext. and Int. Obliques, Transverse Abdominis, Transversalis Fascia, and Parietal Peritoneum into Peritoneal Cavity
