Abdomen Anatomy Flashcards
Where do most of the main vessels and ducts leave the liver?
The porta hepatis
Describe where the
For the round ligament of the liver, give:
a) Its other name
b) What it is
c) Where it is
a) Round ligament of the liver = Ligamentum teres
b) It was the umbilical vein
c) Its found in the free edge of the falciform ligament
Describe the bare area of the liver
The only part of the liver which isnt covered by peritoneum.
Its bounded by the two coronary ligaments and the IVC on the diaphragmatic surface
Attached to the diaphragm by areolar tissue - site where infection can spread from the abdomen to the thoracic cavity
Where is the visceral surface of the liver?
The inferior surface
Its uneven and concave due to impressions of other organs
On the right lobe what are the 2 impressions called and made by?
Collic impression from the hepatic flexture
Renal impression from part of the right kidney and the right supra renal gland (deeper and more superior)
Where is the gastric impression on the liver?
Inferior surface of the left lobe
Give the order of the vein, artery and duct in the portal hepatis from anterior to posterior
DAV
Front - duct, artery, vein - back
Decribe the line which seperates the functional left and right lobes of the liver
Live between the fossa of the gallbladder and the IVC
(makes the quadrate lobe part of the functional left lob)
Left functional lobe is bigger and supplied by the left branches of the vessels
Behind which part of the pancreas is the hepatic portal vein formed?
Behind the neck of the pancreas
In the transpyloric plane
Which ligaments attach the spleen to:
a) The stomach
b) The liver
a) Gastrosplenic ligament
b) Lienorenal ligament
Give the branches off the abdominal aorta and the vertebral level until the bifurication at L4 into the left and right common iliac arteries
T12 - (Aortic hiatus where it enters from the diaphragm)
T12 - Inferior phrenic & celiac artery
L1 - SMA + Renal
L2 - Gondal
L3 - IMA
L4 - Bifurication to the common iliac arteries
Give the 3 branches which the celiac trucnk
Hepatic artery
Splenic artery
Gastric artery
What 2 veins form the hepatic portal vein?
The superior mesenteric and the splenic veins
