A
an affectional bond between 2 people that endures over time

- distress at separation
- individual gives the infant a sense of security

what is interactional synchrony
A
2 people are synchronised when they can carry out the same action
- this takes place when the carer and infant’s actions and emotions mirror each other

what is reciprocity
A
- responding to the action of one with a similar action
- both carer and infant initiate interactions and take turns
- the regularity of the interaction helps the caregiver to anticipate and respond to infant behaviour
