Shift Exchanges - between 2 or 3 members?
Shift exchanges must be on a reciprocal basis only. The exchange must be a direct exchange between 2 members only. A third member will not be permitted to participate in the exchange without prior approval of the affected DC or DivC.
Negatively impact on service delivery.
A shift exchange shall not impact negatively on service delivery or the safety and effectiveness of operations.
Shift changes in FF division.
All shift exchanges in the FF Division are subject to approval by a DC. All shift exchanges in staff divisions are subject to approval by a DivC.
Shift Changes in Telestaff.
In the FF Division, personnel should arrange shift exchanges in Telestaff. Shift exchanges are not final until approved by a DC.

Request for an Emergency Shift Exchange
In the FF division, when the respective DC is not available to approve the shift exchange in Telestaff, a request for an emergency exchange may be made by contacting an on-duty DC, who may approve an emergency exchange and will ensure that the DCs on the affected shifts are duly notified via email. Admin will provide the DC and ADC a list of personnel that have had their shift exchange privileges suspended.
When must s/c be repaid.
Shift exchanges must be repaid in the same calendar year as the original exchange. Extenuating circumstances may be considered by the DC or DivC.

The number of shift exchanges may be restricted at the discretion of the Dc/DivC, if in their opinion, the efficiency of the shift or individual training is being jeopardized.
