A person who

• is qualified because of knowledge, training and experience to organize the work and its performance
• is familiar with the OHSA and the regulations that apply to the work
• has knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health and safety in the workplace.

A supervisor

A supervisor means a person who has charge of a workplace or authority over a worker

A supervisor shall ensure that a worker

• works in a manner with the protective devices, measures and procedure required by the act and regs
• uses or wears the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn

A supervisor shall

• advise the worker of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health and safety of the worker of which the supervisor is aware
• where prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions as to the measures to be taken for the protection of the worker
• take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the worker.
