10-06 - Return to Regular Firefighting Duties

Any Captain or Fire Fighter that has been away from active duty for more than 6 months shall be temporarily assigned to modified duties in either the FF or the Div. of Training.

Review of revised SOG and PPs

The employee shall be given the opportunity to review any new or revised SOGs as well as any new revised PPs.

Question 3

The Fire Fighting Division and/or the Training Division will assist the returning Capt. or FF to ensure the employee can demonstrate to a training officer….

• Proficiency in the current AED protocols
• Proficiency in the current EMR protocols
• Proficiency in PPE including SCBA daily inspections
• Proficiency in the se of PPE including SCBA
• Proficiency in search and rescue evolutions with restricted visibility
• Proficiency as a part of a team in raising an extension ladder to a 3rd storey window

Fire Fighter only:

• Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a fire pump
• Demonstrate proficiency and competency in driving fire apparatus.
