Whiskey rebellion was when farmers from Pennsylvania got mad at a tax on whiskey. Washington sent troops to stop them with force.

the federalist party believed in a strong federal government. They also bevelied the constitution gave implied powers.
XYZ Affair
the French thought that Jay’s Treaty was trying to help the British win the war so they seized american ships. John Adams sent a team to Paris to get them back but the French sent 3 agents to demand a bribe and loan. John Adams replaced the agents’ names with X,Y, and Z, which is what the treaty is named after.
Alien and Sedition Acts
the Alien and Sedition acts made the president allowed to imprison aliens. He could also deport them.

They believed in the strict reading of the Constitution. They believed congressional powers were limited to what is absolutely necessary to carry out enumeration. Believed in weaker government.
