chubby cheeks

figure
the shape of a person’s body, used especially for women. for men we usually use the word body
e.g.
She’s got a beautiful figure.
She got her figure back (= returned to her usual shape) after having the baby.
glamorous
appearing more exciting and attractive than ordinary people
e.g.
She always looks very glamorous.
hideous
extremely unpleasant or ugly
e.g.
He has a hideous tattoo.
Dinnertime that day was hideous.
be getting on for
be nearly a particular age, number, or time:
I’m getting on for 40.
It’s getting on for midnight.
key to sth
[usually singular] a thing that makes you able to understand or achieve something
e.g.
The key to success is preparation.
First-time voters could hold the key to the election result.
The driver of the car probably holds the key to solving the crime.
feature
[usually plural] a part of somebody’s face such as their nose, mouth and eyes
e.g.
facial features
his strong handsome features
Her eyes are her most striking feature.
guidelines
[countable] something that can be used to help you make a decision or form an opinion
e.g.
The figures are a useful guideline when buying a house.
create an illusion of sth
make sth appear true, which in fact is false
e.g.
Wearing dark colors or vertical stripes will create the illusion of being slimmer.
flattering
making somebody look more attractive
e.g.
a flattering dress
The photo is not very flattering.
draw (sb’s) attention to sth
make sb notice sth
e.g.
I tried not to draw attention to (= make people notice) the weak points in my argument.
