4B.4 Flashcards
1
Q
What is internal resistance
A
it is the resistance of an emf source
2
Q
if a large current passes through an Emf what could happen
A
emf internal resistance most of the time it is small and not noticeable, but with the increase of current the resistance in the emf because more as with that less voltage would be supplied to the rest of the circuit, which can affect the performance of the device
- also large currents could also damage the emf source as a result of ohmic resistance heating
3
Q
what is the equation that shows us the total voltage supply to the terminal circuit
A
emf= I(r + R)
4
Q
compare the equation that shows the total internal resistance with y=mx + c
A
V= -Ir + ع V=y I=x m=r c= ع
