1A.6 kinematic equations Flashcards
1
Q
what is uniform motion
A
when an object has no resultant force acting on it so it doesn’t accelerate. velocity would be the same at the beginning of the motion and at the end of it
2
Q
in uniform motion velocity =
A
s/t
3
Q
what are the 5 valuables in kinematic equations?
A
s - displacement (m) u - intial velocity (ms -1) v - final velocity (ms-1) a - accelaration (ms-2) t - times (s)
4
Q
why do we use kinematic equations
A
because they allow us to work out the motion of an object that is moving at a constant acceleration therefore they only work in uniform motion/ acceleration
5
Q
if we throw an object up in the sky acceleration =
A
gravity = 9.81
6
Q
what are the kinematic equations
A
- v = u + at
- v^2 = u^2 + 2as
- s = 1/2 ( u+v ) t ( which comes from combing
- s = ut + 1/2 a t^2 ( which comes from combing - v = u + at and s = 1/2 ( u+v ) t)
