4.3 Flashcards
What is the order of Cellular respiration?
Glycolysis, Link Reaction, Krebs Cycle, and Electron transport chain
What are the inputs and outputs of the Glysolysis stage?
The inputs are glucose and NAD+, outputs are 2 ATP, pyruvates, and NADH
What are the inputs and outputs of the Link reaction stage?
Inputs are CO2 and NAD+, outputs are NADH and Acetyl-CoA
What are the inputs and outputs of the Krebs Cycle stage?
Inputs are Acetyl-CoA and outputs are a small amount of ATP, CO2, FADH, and NADH
What are the inputs and outputs of the Electron transport chain stage?
Inputs are NADH, FADH, O2, ADP, and H+. Outputs are NAD+, FAD, H2O. and a large amount of ATP
Where is the does Cellular respiration take place?
In the mitochondria
Where does Glycolysis take place?
In the cytoplasm
Where does Link Reaction take place?
In the mitochondrial matrix
Where does the Krebs cycle take place?
In the mitochondrial matrix
Where does the Electron transport chain take place?
Between the mitochondrial matrix and the intermembrane space
What is the chemical reaction for Cellular respiration?
C6H12+O2 + CO2+H2O+ATP
What happens in cells when there is oxygen?
The cellular respiration process occurs
What happens in cells when there is no oxygen?
Fermentation occurs
What is the difference between aerobic and anaerobic respiration?
Aerobic means the presence of oxygen. anaerobic means a lack of oxygen
What is the difference between Alcoholic fermentation and Lactic fermentation?
