What is meant by a “Strategic action”?
Any activity that follows from the planning and development of strategy.
When developing strategic actions, what are the “3 Is” that can be used to define each action?
Improvement - something we need to do more effectively
Innovation - something different that we need to do
Improvisation - something where we need to interpret what is happening and act accordingly.
What is left-brain thinking?
Normal daily, logical, thinking.
What is right-brain thinking?
Lateral, creative thinking.
Thatcher (2006) suggested four core elements to communicating strategy. What are these? (FIME)
1) Focus - specifically what are we trying to achieve?
2) Impact - what difference will it make?
3) Media - how to we ensure the right people know the right things?
4) Engagement - how do we get the right people working together?
Give three common approaches to the communication strategy for a business.
1) Strategy workshops
2) Strategy projects/teams
3) Holistic business case justification
