What does the left side of the heart do?
It carries oxygenated blood and pumps it to the rest of the body
What does the right side do?
It carries deoxygenated blood and pumps it to the lungs
What is the wall in the middle of the heart called?
The septum
What does the pulmonary vein do and where is it located?
It is located on the left and brings oxygenated blood from the lungs to the aorta
What is the bicuspid valve and where is it located?
It is located on the left and opens the valve from the left atrium to ventricle
What does the aorta do and where is it located?
It is located on the left and pumps blood to the rest of the body
What does the vena cava do and where is it located?
It is located on the right and brings deoxygenated blood from the rest of the body to the pulmonary artery
What does the tricuspid valve do and where is it located?
It is located on the right and opens the valve from the right atrium to ventricle
What does the pulmonary artery do and where is it located?
It is located on the right and pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs
Why is the left side of the heart thicker and has more muscle/
Because the aorta needs enough pressure to pump the blood throughout the whole body
