The verb λανθάνω, λήσω, ἔλαθον, λέληθα, meaning I escape notice, escape the notice of, is used idiomatically with a supplementary participle. The participle con- tains the main idea of the sentence and is usually translated with a finite verb, while the form of λανθάνω becomes an adverbial phrase.
