What is a triangle?
A polygon with three sides.
What is a quadrilateral?
A polygon with four sides.
What is a pentagon?
A polygon with five sides.
What is a hexagon?
A polygon with six sides.
What is an octogan?
A polygon with eight sides.
What is the perimeter of a shape?
The distance around the edge of a shape.
How do you work out the perimeter of a polygon?
Work out the length of the missing sides and then add all of the sides together.
How do you work out the area of a rectangle?
Multiply the base by the height.
How do you work out the area of a compound shape?
Split the shape into rectangles and then use the rectangle method.
How do you work out the area of a triangle?
Multiply the base by the height and then half it.
How do you work out the area of a parralelogram?
You multiply the base by the height.
How do you work out the area of a trapezium?
Half the sum of the parallel sides and then multiply that by the height.
