Antiemetic drugs
Drugs at prevent or control nausea and vomiting
Antidiarrheal drugs
Drugs at reliever control diarrhea or some of the symptoms that go along with it
Chemo receptors
Sensory nerve cells or sense organs such as smell or taste that respond to chemical stimuli and poisonous substances in the intestines
Constipation
A condition in which bowel movement happens less frequently than is normal for an individual or the stool is small, hard, and difficult or painful to pass
Mechanoreceptors
Tension receptors that initiate vomiting because of distention and contraction such as with a bowel obstruction
Nausea
The state that proceeds vomiting, the urge to vomit brought on by many causes such as Influenza, medications, pain, and inner ear disease
Peristalsis
The rippling motion of muscles in the intestines or other tubular organs characterized by an alternate contractions and relaxation of the muscle that propels contents forward
Retching
Labored respiratory movement against a close throat with contraction of the abdominal muscle, chest wall muscles, and diaphragm but without any expulsion of stomach contents
Vestibular apparatus
Didn’t your structures associated with balance and position sensing
Vomiting
The forcing of stomach contents up through the esophagus and out through the mouth
