Increased bone resorption followed by increased bone formation
what is the effect of Paget’s on the bone?
Leads to disorganised bone: bigger, less compact, more vascular and more susceptible to deformity and fracture

who is most affected by Paget’s?

what is a possible environmental factor of paget’s?

describe typical presentation of patient with Paget’s?
presents in a patient>40 years with bone pain occasionally presents with bone deformity/fracture, excessive heat over the Pagetic bone, hearing loss

isolated elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase
treatment for Paget’s?
IV biphosphonate therapy - one off zoledronic acid infusion
how do you treat asymptomatic Paget’s?
can be ignored (unless in skull - surgical intervention)
