What does this image show?

Cellular respiration
Explain cellular respiration

food(glucose) plus oxygen
Gives off carbon-dioxide c02, water, and engergy that can be used by living things
Explain how you can tell this is a plant cell by looking at the vacuole

Vacuoles tend to be larger in plants. They are temporary storage areas that sometmes store waste
How would you know this is an animal cell by looking at the vacuoles?

There are many vacuoles, which shows it is not a plant cell. Also these vacuoles are much smaller than those in plant cells
What does the Endoplasmic reticulum do?

It is a series of fan or accordion like folds or channels that transport materials
What do the ribosomes do?

Ribosomes are a small factory creating protein
What does the Golgi body do?

once a ribosome has made the protein, it passes through the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi body packs the protein into a membrane. The Golgi body creates the vesicles by taking the protein and wrapping it up.
What do vesicles do?
They are little packs of protein, and the vesicles move the protein around the cell like a mail system. They carry proteins, nutrients, and water into, out of and around the inside of the cell
What does lysosome do?
It breaks down and recyles old and worn out organelles. It has digestive chemicals to get rid of waste.
Explain photosynthesis

Sun’s energy
plus
Carbon Dioxide CO
plus
water
=
Food (glucose)
Oxygen
What do chloroplasts do?

Chloroplasts trap the energy from the sun and changes is it to chemical energy.
What do mitochondria do?

they carry out cellular respiration and produce the energy that the cells use to carry out their activities
What kind of a cell is this?

Procaryotic
might be a bacteria
organelles do not have membranes
there is no nucleus just floating DNA
What kind of cell is this?

Eukaryotic
organelles are surrounded by membranes
