What does matter of fact mean?
-Empirical things, truths relating to the world of sense and experience
-Way things actually happen to be
- These are LESS CERTAIN than relation of ideas as they rely on experiences

Define a priori
Knowledge of propositions which don’t require sense experience to be known as true or false
Define a posterior
Knowledge of propositions that could only be known to be true or false with sense experience
What is an analytic proposition
- Is true or false in virtue of the meanings of words
-Bachelor is an unmarred man = analytically true
-Square has 4 sides= analytically false
What is a synthetic proposition?
- Not analytic but true or false depending on how the world is
- Jhon is blad
What is a necessary truth?
-a proposition that is always true as it could not have been otherwise
-When one thing requires the other to be true
-17 is a prime numeber
What is contingent truth?
-Proposition that could be either true or false, state of affairs that may not hold depending on how the world actuallyis
-Not necessarly true or false
-there is only one moon
