EMBOSSING
An application that alters the surface of the cover by providing a three dimensional or raised effect. The procedure requires the use of two dies: one that is raised and one that is recessed. The dies fit into each other so that when the cover material is pressed between them, the raised die forces the stock into the recessed die and creates the embossed impression.
EVEN PAGE
Page displayed on the left side of the gutter.
EYE FLOW
The natural movement from left to right with the content elements moving the eye into the center and/or toward other key elements. The goal is to keep the reader moving from element to element.
EYELINE
An imaginary, horizontal band of 1 pica spacing used as a unifying device. The _________runs across the two facing pages, visually linking the spread.
