What Do You Think Had The Greatest Impact Flashcards
What do you think had the greatest impact in forming the church we know today
Why council of Jerusalem?
I think that the council of Jerusalem had the biggest impact because without there decision I donโt think it would be what it is today. They showed that Christianity was its own religion and not just a religious group for Jews. They also allowed that Gentile Jews could become Christian proving it as its own religin open to everyone, not just Jews.
They declared that gentile Jesus could become Christian too.

Why the reformation?
I think that the reformation was the most important thing because it created the Protestant church who was protesting against the Catholic Church.
It was very important because Luther made 95 complaints about the Catholic Church and he created a whole new church with everything being fair (like not having to pay indulgences). This meant that even poor people who couldnโt pay to get into heaven could go just by praying to god.
This also let us read the bible for ourselves because without Luther we could still be having the bible translated from Latin by a priest, but Luther let the people read the bible in their own language.
It was the split between Protestantism and Catholicism.
Allowed for development of denominations and different practices/beliefs under the umbrella of Christianity.
