Jesus chose twelve men to be apostles, so the church has no right to change this pattern.

The priest is a representative of the whole church, both male and female, so there is no reason why women should not be priests.
The church must follow modern trends if people are going to continue to be part of it.

There is evidence that churches led by women priests are growing in numbers, compared to those led by men.
Women are now educated to the same level as men, so should be allowed equal opportunities.
Both men and women can be baptised. They are equal on entry into the church and so should also be treated equally after.
Jesus showed respect to women. Some of his closest friends were women. It was to women that he first appeared after his resurrection. This was necessary in the spreading of resurrection news
