What is environmental justice?
Environmental justice is the fair treatment and
meaningful involvement of all people regardless of
race, color, national origin, or income, with respect to
the development, implementation, and enforcement of
environmental laws, regulations, and policies
What is climate change?
climate change is any significant change in the
measures of climate lasting for an extended period of time
What causes climate change?
- greenhouse gas
- CO2 emissions
What are greenhouse gases?
Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydro- chlorofluoro- carbons
(HCFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and ozone
What can we do about climate change?
- climate adaptation
- climate mitigation
What is climate adaptation?
Altering our behavior to protect our families from the impacts of climate change. Reducing emissions to adapt easier.
What is climate mitigation?
Climate change mitigation
means avoiding and reducing
emissions of heat-trapping
greenhouse gases into the
atmosphere to prevent the
planet from warming to more extreme temperatures.
