Virtualisation pt2 Flashcards
Cloud
Hardware virtualisation that creates virtual machines in the operating system
Cloud strengths
Uses hardware efficiently and recovery is easy
Cloud weaknesses
High initial investment and data is at risk
Hybrid
A model of client computing where virtualised applications and desktops are deployed using a combination of cloud based and on site infrastructure.
Hybrid strengths
Minimises cost changes for organisations and eliminates many capital expenses
Hybrid weaknesses
It creates limitations and still has a capital cost
How are virtual computers used in business
They can use storage virtualisation to organise data or plan for a disaster recovery because it allows for easy duplication and transfer to any location. A cloud drive is an example of storage virtualisation.
