Q

V. cephalica accessoria

A

This vein drains the dorsal aspect of the Manus. It runs proximally and joins the V. cephalica in the distal third of the antebrachium.

Q

V. cephalica

A

The cephalic vein drains the palmar aspect of the Manus. It runs proximally over the medial palmar surface of the carpus and onto the cranial surface of the distal antebrachium; here it receives the V. cephalica accessoria. Just proximal to the elbow, it is joined by the V. mediana cubiti (a branch of the V. mediana); this vein thus forms a major communication between the deep and superficial venous systems.
The V. cephalica continues between the lateral border of the M. cleidobrachialis and the lateral head of the m. triceps brachii where it gives rise to the V. axillobrachialis. It then passes

Q

V. axillobrachialis

A

This vessel arises from the cephalic vein on lateral head of the triceps. It gives off the V. omobrachialis and then passes under the M. deltoideus Pars scapularis and caudal to the proximal humerus to join the V. axillaris.

Q

V. omobrachialis

A

This small subcutaneous vessel arises from the axillobrachial vein. It runs over the M. deltoideus Pars acromialis and M. cleidocephalicus Pars cervicalis to join the V. jugularis externa a few centimeters cranial to the V. cervicalis superficialis and V. cephalica.
