Face validity
Does the test measure what its supposed to
Content validity
Test represents the topic to be measured
Construct validity
Test actually measures the cognitive function that is being assessed
Criterion validity
Whether a test can predict the performance of a patients wrt an external criterion
Ecological validity
Whether test measures how the person functions in their environment vs in a lab.
Confounding
Factor that affects performance on a test but is not measured. Eg:
Sensory impairments, language barrier, fatigue, pain, emotional state etc.
Underperformance
Important confounder. Performance is impaired, incorrect diagnosis /.
Reliability
Degree to which test results remain the same
Test retest: Different time points
inter rater reliability; Different researchers
