A

Test the pressure on yourself, wipe of the ventouse with surgical spirit, then adjust the pressure to suit the client.

17
Q

Explaine the application of vacuum suction:

A

Apply sufficient medium to the area
Select correct pressure
Lift the skin and glide towards nearest lymph node
overlap each stroke
Break the suction before lifting the ventouse off the skin
Repeat the stoke 5-8 times depending on the skins reaction
Do not overtreat the area
Speck to the client during the treatment checking their comfort levels

18
Q

When would you apply vacuum suction?

A

For deep cleansing apply after steam or desincrustation

19
Q

What are the specific contra-actions that may occur during or after the treatment?

A

Bruising
Dilation of capiilaries
Excess erythema

20
Q

Briefly describe the travel of lymph:

A
Lymph from tissue spaces to
Lymph capillaries to
Lymphy nodes to
Lymph vessels to
Thoracic duct or right lymphatic duct to
Subclavian veins back into the blood circualtory system
