Differences Between Swamp Type and River Type of Buffaloes
Swamp Type
1. Heavy bodies and stocky built
2. Body is short and belly is large
3. Forehead is flat with prominent eyes and short face
4, Wide muzzle, long neck with withers and croup prominent
5. Skin is gray at birth becomes blue in adult
6. Horns grow outward and curves in a semi-circle
7. Used as draft animal
River Type
1. Large face, smooth girth, bigger limbs and legs
2. Skin is black but some may have dark hairs (Prominent back and sacrum)
3. Horns grow backward and downward
