- SMOKING, obese, age inc, men, genetics
What is prognosis based on for renal cell carcinoma?
metastasis to bone or lungs (cough or bone pain often)- usually dx is after with low 5Y survival - late CM
CM of renal cell carcinoma
- none early
- late - CVA tenderness, hematuria (cola color), palpable ab mass
renal cell carcinoma dx
often from accidental CT
renal cell carcinoma tx
resists chemo - often surgery to remove kidney
Most common type of bladder cancer
urothelial carcinoma - cancer in lining of bladder
urothelial carcinoma risk fx
SMOKING, male, dec fluid intake, occupational exposure to toxins w/o being flushed out from fluid intake
CM of urothelial carcinoma
hematuria (pink or red), may be uroscopic (seen with UA)
- LATER - frequency, dysuria, urgency
urothelial carcinoma tx
chemo (depending on stage)
- stage 1 - intravesical chemo
- advanced - systemic chemo
- BCG vax (matrix)
