Explain atmospheric pollution?

A

From burnt fossil fuels from cars or industry
In Delhi and MC residents exceed WHO guidelines by 3X
Leading to a 1-2 year shorter life span
Particulate matter - most responsible for health problems like lung and heart disease = coming from industry, agriculture and construction
Sulphur Dioxide - emitted from burning coal can be bad for health

A

The situation being surrounded by mountains traps pollution and causes a smog due to the cool air meeting the warmer inversion layer.
300 deaths annually from air pollution.
MC is located above a confined aquifer up to 800m thick only input is from precipitation, 30% of their water supply is leaked through cracked pipes, most garbage ends up in the river systems which contaminates the water.
