A

MEDC - more energy used

Some LEDC’s biomass dominates any other form of energy source - Mali 80% use wood and charcoal in rural areas (it is renewable but cannot be replaced quickly)

A

Health - harmful smoke can cause respiratory problems
Deforestation - to supply the wood fires - 10% of land is covered with trees - deforestation is taking place at a rate of 1% per year
They also have no fossil fuel resources themselves

A

Non food and oil bearing plant that grows widely Mali
The oil pressed from the seed can be used as an alternative to fuel
Better for environment - CO2 released still but then taken out by the Jatropha plant
