UPGRADE - Overhead Panel Flashcards
What does the DC service switch power?
Lights (Nav, beacon, service, boarding, toilet and galley dome) Boarding announcement Cabin lighting, upward and downward Service Bus Feed Power Sensing (Service Bus and TRU) Chart Holder Water and Waste Control
What lights will illuminate with the Battery Master ON? (No AC power established)?
- AC ESS XFER switchlight
- the INOP portion of L&R boost pump switchlight
- The FAULT portion of the PRESS CONT switchlight
- The OFF portion of the L&R PACK switch light
- MACH TRIM switch light
Regarding the AC switchlight, what does the illumination of the AVAIL portion indicate?
The system has the correct voltage, frequency and phase
400 HZ, 115 volts, 3 phase
Regarding the IDG guarded switchlight, what does the illumination of the FAULT portion indicate? DISC portion?
Associated IDG has either Low Oil PSI, or high oil temp
The DISC portion indicates that the associated IDG has been disconnected
What does the illumination of the AC ESS XFER switchlight indicate?
AC Bus 1 is not powering the AC ESS BUS
What should a generator be reset?
When directed by the QRH (Example QRH ELEC 12)
Regarding the AUTO XFER switchlight, what does the illumination of the FAIL portion indicate?
The associated GCU (Generator Control Unit) has detected a Bus fault or generator over current
Affected generator is taken offline
GCU inhibits the auto transfer system on the affected side
Associated AC BUS can no longer be powered by the APU or offside
What is associated with the successful fire test?
- FIRE SYS OK advisory message
- LH ENG, RH ENG, and APU FIRE PUSH switchlight illuminate
- LH, RH and APU BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCHARGE switchlight illuminate
- Both Master Warning Flashers illuminate
- FWD & AFT CARGO SMOKE PUSH switchlights illuminate
- Cargo BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCHARGE switchlight illuminate
What is the function of the L/R HYD SOV guarded switchlight?
To interrupt the flow of hydraulic fluid to the associated EDP (Engine Driven Pump)
Regarding the L or R Boost pump, what does the INOP portion of the switchlight indicate? The ON portion?
- The pump outlet PSI is too low (INOP) or Failed
2. The pump outlet PSI is satisfactory (ON)
What does the FAIL portion of the GRAVITY XFLOW switchlight indicate?
The gravity crossflow valve is not in the commanded position
Regarding the L or R XFLOW switchlight, what does the FAIL portion of the switchlight indicate? The ON portion?
- Respective crossflow SOV is not in the commanded position or crossflow pump failed to energize with L or R crossflow SOV selected open
- ON crossflow pump energized, fuel directed into low tank
Explain the function of the XFLOW AUTO OVERRIDE switchlight, Pressed IN/OUT?
- Pressed in arms the crossflow pump for manual crossflow and inhibits the auto crossflow function (switch is illuminated)
- Pressed out crossflow pump is disarmed for manual use and auto crossflow is available. (Switch not illuminated)
WING A/I CROSS BLEED rotary switch
- From left the right wing anti-icing valve is closed and the crossbleed valve opens to permit bleed air from the left engine to provide anti-icing to both wings
- From right the left wing anti-icing valve is closed and the crossbleed valve opens to permit bleed air from the right engine to provide anti-icing to both wings
BLEED VALVES rotary switch
- AUTO allows for automatic operation the bleed valve
- CLSD selects the valves to the closed position
- MANUAL allows for manual open or closed operation of the valve (controlled by the ACSC) ISOL toggle switch
- CLSD allows the valve to open automatically when the APU LCV is opened; during crossbleed starts and cycled open/closed during the automatic transfer of bleeds between the APU and engines
- OPEN allows manual operation of the valve in conjunction with the BLEED VALVES rotary switch in the manual position
BLEED SOURCE rotary switch
- BOTH ENG the left and right engines bleed valve is open if both engines are capable of supplying bleed air. The APU LCV is closed (normal operations)
- L ENG the left engine bleed valve is opened if the left engine is capable bleed air. The right engine bleed valve and the APU LCV are closed
- R ENG the right engine bleed valve is open if the right engine is capable of supplying bleed air. The left engine and the APU LCV are closed
PWR/FUEL switch (APU)
- Pressed in ECU is powered, APU IN BITES (built in test) status message
- APU SOV OPEN status message
- Air inlet door opens
- APU RPM and EGT gauges are displayed on the EICAS status page
- Fuel pump comes on
PUMP FAIL portion of the switchlight illuminates (APU)
indicates a failed APU pump
