POWER UP (CA or FO)

A
  1. NAV LIGHT - on
  2. BATTERIES 1, 2 - battery 1 (on), battery 2 (auto)
  3. BATTERY VOLTAGE
  4. EICAS MESSAGES
  5. GPU
  6. EMERGENCY LIGHTS (GPU AVAILABLE) - on checked, then ARMED
  7. FIRE EXTINGUISHER PANEL (fire test)
  8. APU - on, wait for the EICAS display then start
  9. EMERGENCY LIGHTS SELECTOR (IF NO GPU AVAILABLE) - checked
  10. HYDRAULIC PANEL - check for FLT CNTRL EXPIRED message
  11. ELECTRONIC CB’s - check the MCDU for the CBs
  12. DVDR PANEL - press and hold test for 2 seconds
  13. COCKPIT DOOR PANEL - press test, then lock, then FA check,
  14. PHOTOLUMINESCENT STRIPS - checked, charged after 15 minutes

  11. EICAS - check that they agree with aircraft
  12. GND PROX TERR INHIB BUTTON - verify out, no illumination
  13. MCDU - initialize FMS, route, etc, (after clearance, pax count - insert)
  14. FLIGHT CONTROL MODE PANEL - verify guarded no stripes
  15. SHAKER 1&2 CUTOUT BUTTONS - pushed out, no illumination
  16. IGNITION SELECTOR KNOBS - verify auto
  17. EICAS FULL - desired position
  18. THRUST LEVERS - idle
  19. SPEED BRAKE - closed
  20. AUDIO CONTROL PANEL - volume no higher than 55, desired positions
  21. TRIM PANEL - 3 second check, check movement and re-center
  22. TAKEOFF BRIEFING - complete it
  23. ELECTRONIC DEVICES - off, airplane mode

  11. STEERING DISENGAGE SWITCH - verify STEER OFF on EICAS

  1. GROUND EQUIPMENT - parking brake is set, gear/RAT pins gone, ground equipment have been removed
  2. FLAPS - set by TAKEOFF page on MCDU
  3. FLIGHT CONTROLS - press steer disengage switch prior to checking rudder, verify STEER OFF EICAS message, rudder check full deflection left/right
  4. STEERING HANDLE - press steering handle, verify STEER OFF EICAS message extinguished, MAP page on MFD prior to taxi

  4. FUEL - fuel onboard meets or exceeds MIN fuel on release for Takeoff
  5. PERFORMANCE DATA - review ATTCS, N1, ZFW, Vspeeds
  6. MCDU/FMS - insert SID/departing runway, verify performance data is set
  7. FLAPS - verify new flap setting from takeoff page in FMS
  8. TAKEOFF BRIEFING - brief the use of FMS speeds and/or VNAV and requested modes for the climb sequence

  1. LANDING GEAR - verify down and locked all green indications
  2. FLAPS - PM will select slats/flaps directed by PM, both PF & PM will point at the EICAS screen and state FLAP position
  3. FUEL XFEED - off
    * items NOT on the flow but in CFM
  4. LIGHTS - as required, due to visibility and strobe distraction
  5. LANDING CLEARANCE - cleared to land, proper assigned runway

GO AROUND (PF & PM FLOW)

A

PM

  1. LANDING DATA - gets the landing data for the new approach
  2. FLIGHT ATTENDANT - advise FAs of the situation, advise passengers or have FAs direct the passengers (update)

PM

  1. APPROACH BRIEFING - this is a CA call, if a different approach then brief, if the same CA can state “as previously briefed”

TAXI IN (CA)

A
  1. LIGHTS - as required, consider crossing runways (all lights on) otherwise just taxi light is fine

SHUTDOWN (CA)

A
  1. PARKING BRAKE - on, verify light says ON
  2. GPU/APU - wait 10 seconds before shutting down an engine either by GPU or APU
  3. THRUST LEVERS - idle, 2 minutes for engine cool down
  4. ENG 1, 2 START/STOP SELECTORS - stop, but thrust levers must be in IDLE to shut down
  5. STERILE - off
  6. HYDRAULIC PUMPS - auto and off, hydraulic pumps 1, 2 and 3 B - AUTO and hydraulic pump 3 A is in OFF position
  7. BEACON - off
  8. FSTN SEAT BELTS - off

LEAVING THE AIRPLANE (CA)

A
  1. HYDRAULIC P-BIT TEST - hydraulic pump 1, 2, and 3 ON, 1 minute FLT CONTROL EXPIRED extinguishes, pumps to AUTO then OFF, FLT CONTROL TEST in progress, if FLT CNTRL EXPIRED still on, power down and power up aircraft
  2. PASSENGER SIGNS/EMER LT - all signs off
  3. ELECTRICAL - APU off, wait an additional 80 seconds for the APU FUEL SOV monetarily displayed, GPU off - pushed out
  4. BATTERIES 1 & 2 - off
