Question 1

Adjectives agree in gender and number with nouns. Add an –e for feminine, and an –s for plural.

Sometimes, the pronunciation is the same, but the ending is written differently. Be sure to remember the appropriate endings!

• bleu / bleus / bleue / bleues = blue

• petit / petits - petite / petites = short stature
• grand / grands - grande / grandes = tall, big
• jeune / jeunes = young
• joli / jolis - jolie / jolies = pretty
• laid / laids - laide / laides = ugly
• marron = brown (not used for hair color)
• noir / noirs - noire / noires = black
• raide / raides = straight
• vert / verts - verte / vertes = green
