TNC’s build more factories, shops, services and attract people but they have low wages and deteriorating natural environment.
GMO- genetically modified organism
- Genetic modification allows the genes from one species to be introduced into another to produce hardier and higher-yield strain
- can increase quality, quantity, and availability of food.
GMO health - pros and cons
Pros:
- provide higher concentrations of vitamins
- higher quality foods
Cons:
- may lead to unpredictable allergic reactions
- may alter the genetic makeup of individuals
GMO Environmental - pros and cons
Pros:
- reduce the use of pesticides
- reduce wastes that pollute the environment
- may be used to immunize against diseases
cons:
- could violate the natural order of the world
- could have unknown effects on organisms
GMO economic - pros and cons
Pros:
- produce higher yields because crops require less time to grow and have a lot of resistance to pests
Cons:
- concentrate agribusiness in the hands of powerful corporations
- create increased dependence of developing countries on the industrialized world
GMO Ethical and Moral - pros and cons
Pros:
- increase worlds food supply
- provide better tasting food
Cons:
- May produce unknown effects on animals
- do not require labelling under current legislation of Canada

People’s ability to travel further and faster then ever before pose a serious risk of pandemics
