What is legislation
A collection of laws passed by parliment. Legislation is upheld through the courts which can prosecute individuals or organisations
what is a regulation
Once the law is passed, it is then the responsibilty of the regulatory board to have it executed
what is the purpose of health and safety legislation
to keep people safe in health/social/care settings. It also gives guidance to the practioners and managers of the settings.
