Describe the Guerrilla Warfare.

A

Colonists developed this strategy during The Battle of Lexington and Concord. It means that one would note shoot people face to face but would hide. As in the battle of Lexington and Concord, the Colonists would use this technique, hiding in trees and not shooting the British soldiers until they saw their red coats and the whites of their eyes.

A

Patriots viewed the British as very powerful and the enemy while the Loyalists would either be neutral, seeing the British as their ally or some were so loyal, they would fight the Colonists.

A

The Colonists began storing weapons in Concord and the British found out so they tried to them, so they could make no war happen. When the British reached Concord, Paul Revere’s ride became famous: warning the minutemen (the Colonist’s side) that the British were coming.

A

British forces, led by General Howe, advanced up the hill 3 times. The first 2 times were unsuccessful however, the 3rd time was successful because the Colonists ran out of aummunition. Although the British won the conflict, it was a moral victory for the Colonists.

Describe the Battle of Trenton and Princeton.

A

In both of these battles, Washington performed these battles with the “sneak attack” on the British, at night. Washington snuck into the British’s campus, forcing the British to surrender. It was 2 easy victories for the Colonists.

Describe the Battle of Saratoga.

A

Known as the “Turning Point” battle. Burgoyne had this idea of him and Cornwallis surrounding Washington’s army. While Burgoyne was going to the planned location of Washington’s army, Cornwallis was coming but he stops by an unguarded city: Philadelphia, capturing it, never ending up meeting Burgoyne where they had planned.

Describe the Winter at Valley Forge.

A

During the winter of 1777 and 1778, Washington was forced to encamp his men with little to no supplies. Valley Forge became the rallying cry for Americans and their will to be victorius. Basically, Valley Forge changed the Colonists’ perspectives on the war.

A
