Unauthorised or unintended access to data
. This is any time when data is accessed by individuals, organisations or states who have no legal right to access the data
. Reasons - Poor security or espionage
Accidental loss of data
This can be through human error or equipment failure.
Intentional destruction of data
. Usually motivated by the desire to have a negative impact on the individual, organisation or state.
. Could also be through intention destruction of a hard drive that all data has not been retrieved from
Intentional tampering with data
The data is still available but it has been tampered with, making it unreliable.
