What are some disadvantages of a Broviak catheter?
1.Requires daily heparin flushes,
2. must be clamed,
3.must teach kids not to pick at it
4., must be kept dry,
5.no vigorous sports.
What do we need to know about a PICC?
- Legs and arm for placement
- PICC lines are cheaper
- Requires heparin flush
