Q

How does the Nosewheel steering system work?

A

The nose gear steering interface provides a direct mechanical link to the rudder pedals; this link only occurs when the nose gear is extended; when the nose gear is retracted, or retracting, mechanical contact is lost

Q

What is the Maximum possible steering angle?

A

The maximum possible steering angle is ± 35°, using rudder pedal (18.3°) in conjunction with asymmetric power and differential braking (16.7°).

7
Q

How does the Normal Extension work?

A

Positioning the LDG GEAR lever to the DN position activates the landing gear extension circuitry. This releases the pressure from the nose and main landing gear actuators and extends the retracted actuators. When extension is completed, the landing gear held in the fully extended position by the down lock mechanism.

8
Q

How does the emergency Extension work?

A

The emergency release system allows the crew to extend the landing gear manually in case of normal extension system failure. The landing gear emergency handle is located at the cockpit centre pedestal. Pulling out and rotating clockwise the free-fall handle activates the free-fall selector valve, releasing all residual hydraulic pressure in the landing gear lines to the return line

11
Q

When will the anti skid function be DISABLED?

A

Whenever a wheel is deemed to be locked for more than the locked wheel protection time (up to 3 seconds)

The antiskid function will be disabled on that wheel and the ANTISKID FAIL CAS message will be triggered.

16
Q

What is the purpose of the Emergency/Parking Brake?

A

The emergency/parking brake system task is to provide an alternate way to stop the airplane in case of main brake system failure, and to keep the aircraft parked even when hydraulic system is off.

17
Q

How is the Emergency/Parking Brake applied?

A

By lifting the emergency/parking brake handle and turning clockwise.

18
Q

How many actuations of the emergency/parking brake does the accumulator allow?

A

6

19
Q

When would the Brake Wear pins need replacing?

A

When the wear pins are flush with the face of the brake housing with the parking brake set

20
Q

Which 2 safety components are fitted to the main undercarriage wheels?

A

Fusible plugs and wheel speed transducers.

21
Q

What is the VLE?

A

275 KIAS

22
Q

What is the maximum undercarriage VLO?

A

180 KIAS (Normal) / 250 KIAS (Emergency)

23
Q

How is the landing gear held in place when retracted?

A

Hydraulic pressure

24
Q

What does LG LEVER DISAG mean?

A

A discrepancy between the position of the LDG GEAR lever and at least one landing gear is detected.

25
Q

What does ANTI-SKID FAIL mean?

A

Loss of anti-skid protection mode.

26
Q

What does BRK FAIL mean?

A

Loss of brakes on both wheels.

27
Q

What does EMER BRK LO PRES mean?

A

Emergency/parking brake inoperative.

Emergency/parking brake accumulator low pressure.

The pressure displayed on the synoptic page is the emergency/parking brake accumulator pre-charge.

28
Q

What does LG WOW SYS FAIL mean?

A

Failure in the WOW indication system.

29
Q

What does PARK BRK NOT REL mean?

A

Emergency/parking brake ON

30
Q

What is the purpose of the landing gear aural warnings?

A

A landing gear aural warning alerts the crew whenever any landing gear is not down and locked.

31
Q

The crew can cancel a landing gear aural warning alert at which flap positions?

A

Flaps at 0 or 1
