What is type 1 diabetes?

Caused by auto-immune destruction of the insulin producing cells - there is a genetic predisposition to this condition

What are symptoms of type 1 diabetes?

- hyperglycaemia
- thirst
- weight loss
- fatigue
- blurred vision

What dangerous condition can develop if not diagnosed?
A
Ketoacidosis - where ketones build up in the body, this can be life threatening
