Active / Latent trigger, Primary, secondary and Satellite.

what are Active trigger points?
A
Painful at rest and with movement, Prevents mm from fully lengthening, Local ischemia and tenderness, Referral with compression, Twitch response.

What are Latent Trigger points?
A
More common,
Pain only on palpation,
May become active,
Latent trigger points also have all the same qualities as Active.

What are Primary Trigger points?
A
Directly activated by acute or chronic mechanical strain or overload of an affected mm.

What are Secondary Trigger points?
A
Activated in the overworked synergist or antagonist mms.

A
Found in Mm that lies within the referral pattern of another trigger point.
