Topic 4 - Titrations (Paper 2) Flashcards
1
Q
what do titrations allow you to find out?
A
exactly how much acid is needed to neutralise a quantity of alkali
2
Q
how do you set up a titration?
A
use a pipette and a pipette filter, add some alkali to a conical flask, along with 2/3 drops of indicator
fill a burette with acid
add the acid to the alkali a bit at a time
3
Q
what formula do you need for a titration calculation?
A
moles = concentration x volume
