dorsal/back
-has the extensors divides into 6 compartement by extensor retinaculum
(from radius to ulna)
1.abductor pollicis longus + extensor pollicis brevis
2.extensor carpi radialis brevis & longus
3.extensor policccis longus
4.enxtesor digitorum & extensor indicis (also has terminal branch of posterior interosseus n which gives sensory innervatio to wrist)
5.extensor digiti minimi
6.extensor carpi ulnaris
volar region & carpal tunnel
-bones: Radius& ulna / carpal bones(so long to picky here comes the thumb)
-tendons: all flexors
1.Flexor Digitorum Superficialis: Inserts into the middle phalanges of fingers.
2.Flexor Digitorum Profundus: Inserts into the distal phalanges of fingers.
3.Flexor Pollicis Longus: Inserts into the distal phalanx of the thumb.
4.Flexor Carpi Radialis: Inserts into the base of the second metacarpal.
5.Palmaris Longus: Inserts into the palmar aponeurosis (not always present in everyone).
the carpal tunel
borders:
dorsally-carpal bornes
vorsally-flexor retinaculum & transverse carpal ligament
content: median nerve (middle) & 9 tendons ( four tendons of the flexor digitorum profundus, four tendons of the flexor digitorum superficialis, and the flexor pollicis longus)
