topic 16 Flashcards
what is the main artery of the antebrachium, and what are its branches
PALMAR/MEDIAL
A. Mediana
(continues to the common digital palmar branches –> prorius digital palmar)
1 - a. radialis
(arcus palm supf with a. interossea caud)
(arcus palm prof with a. ulnaris)
the a. interossea caud also give off the palm dig propr abax V
what arteries supply the dorsal aspect of the antebrachium/carpus/digits
1 - a. antebr supf cran med: communis+proprius braches II(ax)-V
2 - a. antebr supf cran lat: proprius brnaches to I-II(abax)
3 - rete carpi dordalis: r. carp dors(ex radial), r. interosseus, r. carp dors(ex ulnar)
4 - r. dors ex a. ulnar proprius (abax) V
what are the carpal and digital flexors of the FL
- m. flex carpi uln
- m. flex carpi rad
- m. flex dig supf
- m. flex dig prof
what is the direction of supernation
M -> L
which muscles does the ulnar nerve innervate
m. flex. carpi ulnare
DDF except the radial head
what group of muscles does the median nerve innervate
antebrachial flexors, and skin on palmar aspect
describe the heads of the DDF
humeral: biggest
Ulnar:
Radial: smallest
describe the heads of the ulnar carpal flexor
ulnar: smaller and tendinous
humeral: biggest
this is the most superficial/caudal muscle except SDF!
m. flex carpi rad: med/deep to it, shorter
where will you find the median artery
fused to the median nerve, under m. flexor carpi radialis and the humeral head of DDF
where does the a. ulnaris run
Runs caudodistally betwwen ulna and humeral head of DDF
where does a. radialis branch out from the median
distal to the m. pronator teres
