Ectothrix → cortex (cuticle surface) intact → grey patch → microsporum canis , M. Ferrugineum,M. audouinii

Endothrix → cortex breached → black dot( broken tips are seen as black dots) → T . Violaceum & T . Tonsurans

Inflammatory types?

A

Kerion → tricho. Mentagraphytes T. Verrucosum , M. Canis → boggy infl. Tender mass , occipital & posterior cervical LAD ,scarring alopecia

Favus → tricho. Schoenleini → scutula ( foul smelling yellowish cup shaped crusts) → cicatricial alopecia
