Customers can book online, it helps to track who is siting where, the tickets are hard to fake, it can help make sure supporters of different teams are separated which reduces violence. The ticket machine can be hired out so that can bring in more money. People go through set gates/ turnstiles which reduces queues and violence. Advertising can be sold on the ticket.
