basal metabolic rate, protein synthesis & growth.
blood levels of thyroid hormones are controlled by ?
Feedback through hypothalamus. ATP demand can also raise blood levels.
What does calcitonin inhibit?
Osteoclasts, which decreases blood calcium levels. Blood calcium levels feedback to control calcitonin secretion.

In the posterior aspect of thyroid gland (behind thyroid gland)
What cells release parathyroid hormone (PTH)?
Chief cells.
what do parathyroid glands do in the blood?
Increase calcium levels & decrease phosphate levels, regulating calcium, phosphate and magnesium in blood.
