Analysis
Analyst aims to create a sphere where the unconscious can speak and be listened to. No other aims and doesn’t know what is good/bad for that person. No aim to adapt to social norms/exp.
Psychoanalytic therapy
Analytic process within the context of therapeutic interventions. Mix of analysis and therapy
Psychodynamic therapy
Form of therapy derived from psychanalysis, but more aimed at improving focussed problems/social functioning than unfolding analytic process
Therapeutic allience
Importance of clients rational, undistorted perception of the therapist, and a feeling of genuine linking, trust and respect.
Countertransference
Transference: viewing therapist as past experience
counter: Therapist part of feelings and reactions to the clients transf., function of his/her own unresolved conflicts.
Intersubjectivity
Ability to hold onto one’s own experience while at the same time beginning to experience the other as an independent center of subjectivity
